COOKERY LESSONS
Learn the secrets of Moroccan cuisine
Learn to create your own traditional Moroccan dishes such as tagine or couscous, or dishes with an international-Moroccan fusion in a hands-on cookery lesson with our gifted head chef.
Moroccan cuisine is renowned for its use of spices such as cumin, coriander, cinnamon, ginger, and saffron, which infuse dishes with a unique taste.
Create your own traditional Moroccan or fusion dishes
Our gifted head chef Mohamed is always developing his dishes, with a focus Moroccan spices and flavours.
He will be delighted to share his culinary passion with you in cookery lessons. All lessons can also be designed with vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Our kitchen is specially equipped to welcome you for this experience, and there will always be someone to help you communicate with the chef in English, French or Spanish. You can create as many dishes as you like – starters, soups, salads, main dishes, or desserts.
The lesson begins over a glass of mint tea with a brief introduction to the key ingredients and flavours that define Moroccan cuisine. It is renowned for its use of spices such as cumin, coriander, cinnamon, ginger, and saffron, which infuse dishes with a unique taste. Mohamed will also discuss your menu choices with you.
Then we get hands-on! First of all, you will visit our kitchen garden to harvest fresh herbs, vegetables and fruit according to season. Then select other local produce from our stores. Typical ingredients might include onions, garlic, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, zucchini, bell peppers, olives, and a medley of aromatic spices. You might also use preserved lemons and fresh herbs like cilantro, rosemary or parsley for garnish.
Pick up plenty of tips on preparation and cooking techniques throughout the lesson, while learning about Moroccan cuisine and culture. You will also learn the art of preparing mint tea, the traditional welcome drink in Morocco.
Finally, it’s time to enjoy the meal you have produced! And afterwards, you can buy our special spice mixes in the hotel shop to take home with you. We have the famous blend known as “ras-el-hanout”, and a range of mixes for poultry, meat, and vegetables, to bring a Moroccan flavour to your meals back home.
Classes take place from 12-3pm or from 3-6pm.
